  This is the third apartment I have had in my life and BY FAR, CHILI COMMONS IS THE WORST experience I have ever had. I moved in to a first floor apartment initially and had the pleasure of listening to the TV of the tenant above me for literally 6-8 hours a day everyday because the buildings are so pathetically cheap. I heard him talk on his phone, sing in the shower, the floors creak everywhere he walked, along with other things. I relocated to this area to go to school so that's what I listened to while trying to get my homework done. Then the disconnected, looking to cut a corner anywhere they can corporate management that is headed up by a man by the name of Dave Smith, who had to be called numerous times before he ever returned a phone call and was not helpful when he did, relayed a message through the leasing office acting like he did me a favor by letting me move to another one of their apartments. He tried to use the line that maybe I don't understand what "communal living" is like and that you will hear noises from the people around you. The apartment I lived in before this one I was in for 4.5 years, was completely happy, and would still be there had I not relocated to go to school. I had more issues in the first month at Chili Commons then I had in 4.5 years at my previous apartment, and never to the magnitude of these issues. The second apartment isn't nearly as bad as the first (which is not saying much at all) but I still get the privilege of listening to my downstairs neighbor because of how pathetically cheap ALL the buildings are. One of the representatives in the leasing office by the name of Jean doesn't even know what she is doing three quarters of the time and doesn't even correctly comprehend the concept of a co-signer. And she works in the leasing office of an apartment complex and deals with tenants and potential tenants about signing leases at their establishment. I had the privilege of dealing with her as my first contact with the complex and on my move in date because she happens to work on Saturdays which was the only day I could make this move given I had a full time job that I was about to leave.
  She was beyond rude to me the day I came to look at the apartments . I felt like she was looking for reasons to tell me why I was not going to be able to get an apartment. I'm not a felon, and I told her I had a co-signer whose info could allll be verified, and she still treated me like she couldn't believe I was looking to lease. WHO DOES THAT?! I FOOLISHLY plowed through with the process because I was relocating to the area and had about a day to get a living situation settled and the only thing this place had going for it was the location. Jean gave wrong info about two times during the move in process, created several headaches from her incompetence, and after confirming the move in date TWICE on two separate phone calls, she almost wasn't going to let me move in when I had a UHAUL with all my belongings in the parking lot, had just driven 5 hours, and a group of ppl waiting at the building to help me move in. I have no idea how this woman has not been shown the door. The place doesn't even have an option online to pay your rent. My life is not that inconvenienced by that lack, but it is a huge indicator of how little the owners would like to invest in their business.Who doesn't have an online payment option these days or the application online? I could go on forever. After reading a review like this, it would probably be very hard to believe that I am the type of tenant who shows up, pays their rent, maybe picks up a package, and other than that you don't see or hear from me. I am by no means a petty person who makes mountains out of a molehill. Quite the opposite. It has to be pretty bad and I have to be pushed quite hard to be this mad. Long story short, stay AWAY from this place. Worst decision ever to sign a lease here.
